About Us

When you walk in the doors of Westlake Church to attend our Sunday service, you will see people from all over the world including almost every continent – Asia, Australia, Africa, North and South America, and of course Europe. Our people come from as far away as South Africa, Brazil, Australia, and Korea. These folk have made Westlake their home church away from home. One of our desires is that wherever you come from and whatever your background is, you will feel “at home” with us here.

Our Structure
As an independent church, we count on our members in many ways. Westlake members serve in different functions according to each person’s God-given gifts such as worship, outreach, teaching, and care. Our Pastor serves in the very important ministry of preaching, teaching and pastoral oversight. Our elders provide spiritual direction and the overall management of the church as a whole. We also have a church council which provides leadership in many church activities and administration.

Membership
Westlake always welcomes new members! Those wanting to become members must first complete a membership class which provides basic instruction about the privileges and responsibilities of being a member. Although the main activities of Westlake are open to anyone, and it is possible to be involved in some levels of responsibility without being a member in the strict sense, we do have a formal membership that allows us to establish a coherent and stable basis for the organization and government of our church.

Finances
Being an independent church means that we do not have access to the central funds of a specific denomination. The finances needed to run Westlake comes from the gifts and offerings of members and attendees of our church, including occasional gifts coming from people outside the church. 

In order to tithe to Westlake Church, you can use the pink payment slips "Bulletin de Versement" (BV) available in the foyer to make a direct transfer to Westlake's account number at the BCV: U.0670.38.92. An alternative way is Internet payments via online banking (IBAN Account is CH74 0076 7000 U067 0389 2 and the BIC/SWIFT Code is BCVLCH2LXXX. The account's address is the church address : Place de la Gare 9, 1260 Nyon.

We are now members of Stewardship out of the UK. People can give to Westlake through Stewardship and reclaim tax under the Gift Aid scheme from HM Revenue and Customs. For more information visit www.stewardship.org.uk.  Note: This only applies to UK citizens.
