Children's Ministry

Children are a vital part of the church and we are grateful for every single one of them! We understand that they are under pressure from peers and shifting values within society.  We seek to partner with parents in helping children at Westlake build their lives on the truths of God's Word so that their lives are built on the solid foundation of His Word to them and love for them.

Sunday Club

We start our afternoon service all together and then the children head downstairs for their own program.  We currently cater for between 40-50 children, aged between 3 and 10 years old.  We offer 4 age appropriate groups, and use the Scripture Union material to steer the children through the Bible.  We try and ensure a good mix of fun and games, story times, singing, prayer, drama, puppets, quizzes, DVDs and crafts so that learning is something the children want to do as well as catch up with their friends and teachers.  We want that the 'seed' we sow takes root in their hearts and bears fruit for their whole lives, not just during the times they are with us!

At Westlake, we also encourage the building of relationships among the children through activities outside of regular class time. We do this through a variety of ways but especially during special activities at Christmas, at the annual Church Retreat, as well as at other times during the year.

Our Sunday Club program is involved in providing financial support to a school in Rwanda, to help them build a playground. We believe that the children learn valuable lessons about giving in this way.
