Mission Statement
Our
Vision: A dynamic fellowship shining the light of Christ.
Our Mission: Westlake Church exists to glorify God through:
Reaching Up in
Worship – A Worshiping Community
Our vision is for Westlake as a body to
be engaged in dynamic worship and its members to become devoted
worshippers to the glory of God.
Reaching Deeper
through Discipleship – A Maturing Community
We believe that discipleship includes
growth in the areas of Prayer, Scripture, Obedience, Accountability, and
Development of Spiritual Gifts. The Small Group
ministry at Westlake is key to helping people develop in this way.
Reaching Round
through Care – A Caring Community
As Christians, caring should be at the
core of our interactions with people. We also
strive to provide a warm welcome for newcomers to our church.
Reaching Further through Equipping and Mission – A Community with
Worldwide Influence
It is part of our mission to see people who come to Westlake for a short
period of time be built-up and equipped so that when they leave us, they
go on to serve God wherever he calls them in the future, being able to
bring what they have learned during their time with us. This movement of
people away from Westlake, rather than diminishing us, actually allows
us to “reach further”. Beyond this, we also work to promote awareness of
Christian mission around the world and to
equip and motivate people for mission.
Reaching Out through
Evangelism – A Growing Community
Our aim is to see people led to Christ
through the ministries and members of Westlake
Church. We want to equip individuals with the skills they need to
reach out to people in their communities, through caring and being able
to share God’s word.
Reaching Forward to Tomorrows Church Today – A Community that Values
It’s Young People
The goal of reaching forward is accomplished through our Children’s and
Youth Ministries. The Sunday school aims to
work towards informing, challenging, and equipping children (3-10 years
old) through weekly classes and special events led by a dedicated team
of volunteers. The youth program
emphasizes relationships as the key element in meeting the needs of
young people. The goal is to create meaningful relationships with God,
adult leaders, and their peers, which will ultimately serve to build
disciples of Jesus Christ.
