       Care Ministry

Sometimes life can be hard. Unexpected things happen that can cause anxiety, fear and pain. Sometimes circumstances overwhelm us and we need comfort and help to find a way through.

‘God is the source of every mercy. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When others are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us’. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (NLT)

At Westlake, we want to provide a
ministry of care to meet the needs of our congregation. Whether you are new to the area and our church, or whether you have been a long-time member, we have a dedicated team of caregivers ready to help in any way they can. You may contact them via email care@westlakechurch.com.

Some of the ways we provide care include:

1) Special needs: meals to those in need due to sickness or other difficult circumstances; hospital visits and visits to the sick or elderly; babysitting; flowers in the event of a death or of a new baby.

2) Expressions of appreciation to those involved in different ministries within the church.

3) Special seminars and workshops on aspects of care-giving, counselling, mentoring, etc.

4) Welcome of newcomers through personal letters, invitations to homes as well as to special newcomers’ evenings.

5) Pastoral and emotional needs are monitored and ongoing help is provided through the One2One Team, a group of people committed to accompany people through their difficulties. For the Nyon congregation, you may send an email to One2One_Nyon@westlakechurch.com and One2One_Lsne@westlakechurch.com for the Lausanne congregation.

6) Prayer: If you need prayer, we have a telephone and an internet Prayer Chains both of which are confidential. You can also ask the Church for Prayer, this goes via the Sunday Bulletin, requests have to be sent by Wednesday evening. Send your requests by email to: prayer@westlakechurch.com.
A prayer team also offers members of the congregation the possibility to pray with someone after the church service.

7) We seek to strengthen and encourage family life, through support of marriages and support of parents. One way we do this is by regularly offering the Marriage Course.
