Westlake Cares

Our Life Groups and different ministries play a key role in how we care for one another at Westlake. We encourage each Life Group and ministry leader to select a point person to help coordinate practical care for the group and communicate pastoral care needs to the church elders and our core care team.

Please see below for information regarding how you can volunteer at Westlake.

Stephen Ministries

Our Life Group members, ministry participants and core care team visit those in need to offer prayer and encouragement.

In case of an emergency you can contact: elders@westlakechurch.com

We believe praying for people is important, all our Life Group and ministry leaders are equipped to pray for you in person or via telephone. You can also receive prayer in person after each Sunday service or by visiting the Prayer Cafe on a Friday.

Home and hospital visits

Prayer and call care

Stephen Ministers demonstrate Christ's love by providing high quality, confidential, Christ-centered care to people who are struggling through a difficult time in life—experiencing grief, divorce, job loss, chronic or terminal illness, or some other life crisis. Stephen Ministers are congregation members trained by Stephen Leaders to offer high-quality, one-to-one Christian care to people going through tough times.

A Stephen Minister usually provides care to one person at a time, meeting with that person once a week for about an hour.

Please contact Kathryn Granges: stephenministry@westlakechurch.com

Food shopping and meals

Whether it is a new family member or a life challenge such as grief, health, or surgery recovery, our Life Groups, Westlake ministries and core care team can provide care through the delivery of meals or groceries for up to seven days.

To request a meal delivery contact Cecilia Kunzmann: care@westlakechurch.com

Transport

At Westlake we are structured to care for our members through our Life Groups and different ministries. Individuals who need transportation to and from doctor's appointments, church, grocery store, etc., can let their leader know. The core care team can also assist those who are not yet plugged into a Life Group.

Financial support

Whether it is a loss of income or an unexpected financial situation, the inability to pay utilities or rent can leave you feeling anxious and stressed.

We occasionally have resources to help with these situations, and you can reach out to Marie Petraitis at: contactus@westlakechurch.com for more information.
